The two Palestinian assailants, identified as residents of the West Bank city of Hebron, were in Israel illegally. According to police, one of the assailants was armed with a rifle and the other with a knife, and they attacked light-rail passengers and passers-by near a light-rail station on Jaffa's Jerusalem Boulevard.
