Border Police Cpl. Shira Chaya Suslik, 19, was killed today (Sunday, 6 October 2024) in the terror attack at the central bus station in Be’er Sheva. Critically wounded in the attack, she was transferred to the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva where she succumbed to her wounds.
The armed terrorist, whose identity is known to the authorities, entered a branch of McDonald’s and began shooting randomly. Soldiers waiting for transport near the restaurant shot and killed the terrorist. Apart from Shira, ten additional people were wounded in the attack..
Shira enlisted in the Border Patrol in January 2023. She is survived by her parents and three siblings.
