Omer Weinstein, 47, of Kibbutz Dafna was one of five people killed in a rocket attack from Lebanon today (Thursday, 31 October 2024) aimed at the Metula area.
Omer was working in an apple orchard together people when the attack took place. One other person was wounded in the attack.
A total of 7 civilians were killed in rocket attacks from Lebanon today, the highest single-day casualty rate since the rocket attack on Majdal Shams on 27 July, which killed 12 children.
A fourth-generation member of a family of farmers from Metula, Omer moved with his family to Kibbutz Dafna several years ago. In a funeral ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners, he was laid to rest on Friday, 1 November, in the Rosh Pina cemetery. He is survived by his wife and four children.
