Information is accurate to the best of our knowledge.
In case of discrepancy between the Hebrew and the English, the Hebrew should take precedence.
Carol Siman Tov, z"l, originally from Pennsylvania, lived in Kibbutz Nir Oz. She was murdered on October 7th in her home along with her dog. Other members of her family were also murdered that day: her son Jonathan (Johnny), her daughter-in-law Tamar and their three children - the twins Arbel and Shahar (6) and Omar (4).
Carol immigrated to Israel from the USA at the age of 20, lived a simple family life in the pastoral kibbutz and before she retired she worked as a nurse. It is said that she was a sign of free love and resilience and spread love, hugs and smiles to everyone in abundance.
Terry Patterson, her sister, said:
"She was a wonderful sister . loved her children, her grandchildren".
Heather Moser, her cousin, wrote:
"My beautiful Aunt Carol. She had the best personality and could make you laugh for hours".
Rauma Kedem, mother of the late Tamar, Carol's daughter-in-law, wrote: "My favorites, Tamri, John, Arbel, Shahar, Omariko and Grandma Carol. You are the sky and the earth, the sun and the moon, the beating heart of the world. Thanks for all the light. Love forever."
The Director of Nursing - Ministry of Health wrote: "Mourning and paining over the murder of the late Carol Siman Tov, a retired nurse from Kibbutz Nir Oz. Carol was murdered on Saturday, October 7, 2023, along with her son Yonatan, her daughter-in-law Tamar and her three grandchildren Arbel, Shahar and Omar. May their memory be blessed."
